Join GMAG!
GMAG works through the active involvement of member agencies represented by their agency leaders. Upon joining, agency leaders (Full Members) automatically become members of the GMAG Board of Directors. The Board annually selects an Executive Board to lead the organization. An Executive Director assists with the administrative duties of the group, while Area teams work on Administrative, Operational, and Logistical projects, as well as respond to emergencies.

GMAG Notification Maintenance Tool Announced. - Monday, January 05, 2009
In an effort to keep the Notification server for GMAG up to date with current information we have developed a on-line information submittal tool.   You can now add, update and remove information by filling out the form on-line.  Please continue to submit a complete Contact Worksheet through your Area Coordinator.  This new tool is currently designed for data capture only, and does not retrieve and display your current information, nor does it automatically update the databases.

After completing the form you can expect to receive confirmation that the changes have been made in the form of a test page with in a couple of days.  If you have questions or need further assistance you can send an email to notify at gmag.org or contact your department liaison or your Area Coordinator directly.

        Thank You..

Support for New Academy Offerings - Wednesday, December 31, 2008

It has taken years of GAFC suggestions and recommendations to assure that the Georgia Fire Academy continually offers a broad-based curriculum to Fire Chiefs and other Fire Officers that address a wide range of management issues confronting those who manage Fire Departments. Under the leadership of Dave Wall and Mike Byrd, we are finally achieving our goal.

We encourage every Fire Chief involved in improving the next generation of Fire Department top managers (Deputy Chiefs, Assistant Chiefs, Captains, Lieutenants, Battalion Chiefs, etc.) to authorize staff attendance at current Academy offerings. These classes bring to the attention of managers information on personnel management as well as problem solving techniques to meet some of our biggest problems :
