ABSTRACT
The Georgia Mutual Aid Group (GMAG), a consortium of over 129 fire departments and EMS agencies in Georgia providing regional and statewide mutual aid, has developed a Water Disaster Strike Team to deliver emergency portable water purification for any disaster when fresh water is unavailable for consumption, personnel and equipment decontamination. The Team uses a new technology that can turn virtually any surface or contaminated water source into clean water for victim and first responder needs. Working within the Incident Command structure, the Strike Team can be activated throughout FEMA Area 4 by contacting GMAG or GEMA. This presentation will discuss the Team, its capabilities, and activation process.
