Seat Belt Safety

Greetings!

I received the brochure for the GAFC Spring Conference and was pleased to see the theme of “SAFETY – A Family State of Mind”.  Following up on the success of last years conference will be hard but something we can all make happen. The majority of the topics for the conference deal directly with driving and apparatus safety. With this in mind I would like to issue a challenge to every fire department in the state.

To date there are only 25 fire departments of the approximately 560 who are 100% compliant with the International Seat Belt pledge. North Carolina is leading the way. Please use the links below to access the Seat Belt Pledge website and also the pledge form at Everyone Goes Home. The Spring conference begins April 11th. It would be great to see as many fire departments as can commit to the pledge and submit their information before the conference or bring their pledges to the conference.  Many talk about the use of seat belts, lets find out which departments will join the 25 who  already have signed the pledge.  If your one of the 25 then please help spread the word and get the number to grow for Georgia!

Simply download the pledge form and have the members of your department sign it. Then follow the instructions for turning it in and emailing your information in as well.

Pass this along to everyone in your list and let’s see how many departments we can get to sign the pledge before the conference! It would be nice to see the Associations  and State Agencies sign up as well. IF you need further information please visit the web-site or let me know.

THANKS
