Leadership & Team Building Workshop Oct 23-25, 2018

Open to all fire personnel.
Spread the word, post our flyer, share this page!

On October 23, 24, 25, 2018 the Forsyth County Fire Department will be hosting classes on Leadership and Team Building, presented by Anthony Kastros.

A leadership pandemic is sweeping the American Fire Service. The result is increased litigation, liability, injury and even death to firefighters and civilians alike. Gross inefficiency, ineffectiveness and tarnished public trust are just some of the results of this enormous problem. You’ve probably never seen a defensive unit of a football team boo their own offense while on the field, but this takes place every day in the American fire service. A Shift boos B Shift, Engine 1 boos Engine 5, and the line boos the administration. Learn how to get past it and reach the collective potential of the team.

This eight hour class is offered on a shift friendly schedule over the course of three days, October 23-25 2018, by one of the Fire Service’s most dynamic speakers. Anthony Kastros is a 31-year fire service veteran and battalion chief with the Sacramento Metro Fire District, CA. He is author of “Mastering the Fire Service Assessment Center” and DVD series “Mastering Fireground Command – Calming the Chaos!” and “Mastering Unified Command – From Hometown to Homeland,” each from Fire Engineering. Chief Kastros was the FDIC International 2013 Keynote Speaker and teaches fire command, leadership and team building throughout the United States. He spent 10 years as a FEMA USAR Task Force Manager, deploying to New York on 9/11 and 4 seasons on a Type 1 Incident Management Team.

Classes will be held at the Georgia Army National Guard Armory, 100 Aquatic Circle, Cumming, Georgia 30040. Registration starts at 0730 and class begins promptly at 0800 each day. Lunch will be on your own, the dress code is business casual or daily work uniform.
